Guitars Built From the “Old Bones” of New York

Rick Kelly, owner of Kelly Guitars in New York, builds 6-strings out of discarded wood from old buildings. Renovations at landmarks like the Chelsea Hotel landed him with an ample supply of old pine, which has attracted the attention of everyone from Lou Reed to Bob Dylan, who reportedly wondered if he had ever spilled beer on the wood Kelly used to make his guitar.
