Placer County Man Missing After Falling Into Pipe

El Dorado County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who fell into a water pipe. Deputies say the man fell into an untreated raw water pipe Monday afternoon. They haven’t been able to find him, and overnight they transitioned from a rescue operation to a recovery mission. People who live in several communities were asked to stop using water during the search, but emergency personnel decided overnight that it was OK to resume water treatment plant operations. The water district is still asking water customers to conserve water as the search continues.
