The Grand Princess cruise ship like all big ships that enter the San Francisco Bay had to be boarded and navigated through the bay by a bar pilot. NBC Bay Area’s Christie Smith got to talk with the man who took on that job and the challenges and precautions he had to take when guiding that doomed cruise into the port of Oakland.
