Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy is out as Speaker of the House. Something that’s never happened in the history of this country. Someone else making history is Laphonza Butler, who was sworn in as the first openly LGBTQ person to represent Califronia in the Senate. NBC Bay Area’s Raj Mathai spoke to Donna Crane, a political science lecturer at SJSU, about the latest in politics.
