Alaska Airlines Plane Hits Bird During Takeoff From San Jose Airport

A plane that had to make an emergency landing at Oakland International Airport is back on its way to Hawaii.

Alaska Airlines Flight 837 took off around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning from San Jose Mineta International Airport bound for Honolulu.

Soon after takeoff, the plane, a Boeing 737, hit a bird and was forced to land in Oakland.

The plane was checked out and deemed safe to head back out.

No one on board the plane was hurt.
