Crews Stop Spread of Brush Fire Near Highway 101 in South San Jose

The so-called Malech Fire near Highway 101 in South San Jose has been 70 percent contained and a number of firefighters will monitor the area over night to try and reach full containment. Roz Plater reports.

Firefighters have halted the spread of a brush fire that scorched 210 acres near Highway 101 in South San Jose Sunday afternoon, according to Cal Fire. 

The so-called Malech Fire, which is 85% contained, ignited in the area of Malech and Bailey roads, Cal Fire reported.

The cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
