Calif. Attorney General to Speak at Hearing for Sex Trafficking Bill

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra is in Washington D.C. Tuesday morning pushing legislation to stop sex traffickers, a bill that Silicon Valley tech heavy hitters are not backing. Beccerra will be speaking at a Senate committee hearing on legislation called the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act of 2017. If passed it would hold websites like backpage.com liable for hosting sex trafficking ads. But the Washington Post reported that Facebook, Google and Amazon oppose the bill, claiming it would open websites to lawsuits.
