Chilly Weekend Ahead in Bay Area

Some patchy frost to start the morning will be followed by cool sunshine mixed with some clouds at times today. The increase in clouds will arrive as a weather system drops down our coast this afternoon, while showers from this system should stay offshore we ll likely get some clouds at times.Highs will climb into the upper 40s to low 50s before cooling quickly after sunset this evening. As skies clear and dry, chilly air settles in with light winds its looking likely that Sunday morning will start off even colder with mid 20s to upper 30s around the Bay Area. This has prompted the NWS to post a freeze watch for our inland locations overnight into Sunday morning.Long-range our weather pattern is looking very dry especially for this time of year. A blocking high pressure ridge pattern looks mostly entrenched for the West Coast even as far out to the end of the month. Daytime temps may climb a few more degrees by the middle of the new week, but mornings will likely stay chilly and frosty until some of the colder air can get scoured out by a storm system or wind pattern change.Hope you enjoy your Saturday and go 49ers! – Rob Mayeda
