Community Mixed on Recent Oakland Police Budget Cut

Oakland City Council has now voted to hire more civilian violence interrupters, instead of more police officers. Thanks to the new budget, the city will give $17 million to its department of violence prevention. Now, we’re hearing how they plan to spend that money, which the mayor initially wanted to spend on police. Melissa Colorado reports.
