Crying off Script in Workplace Can Ruin Women's Careers, UC Davis Prof Finds

A new research at UC Davis is taking a closer look at an issue not normally talked about: women crying at work. The research shows it happens a lot – with women in executive level positions to administrative assistants. Personal issues such as divorce and stress and things like heated meetings or getting a negative feedback are main reasons why women cry at work. Researcher and professor Kimberly Elsback tells “Today in the Bay” there are right ways to cry at work. The professor says men are raised not to cry while growing up – while women are. But she says men take out their frustrations with anger. That can often times be seen as strength and in some occasions they are even rewarded.
