Decem-brr – Chilly Rain for Saturday

Patchy fog and frost with temps in the 30s and 40s started the day and thanks to increasing clouds through the morning our daytime highs won’t seem so high at all. Plan on 40s to low 50s for most of the Bay Area today, including some temps cold enough in the higher hills of Sonoma, Napa and Lake counties to see some snow showers early before things change over to rain for elevations below 3,000 feet by midday. The majority of this system is looking to spin down parallel to the coastline, so coastal areas, Santa Cruz mountains will likely see more rain than inland areas. Rain is still expected to mainly light to moderate at times, increasing around midday and afternoon then decreasing in coverage to scattered showers by evening. Sunday will be somewhat drier before another system spills more rain our way after sundown starting from north to south. – Rob Mayeda
