M3.4 Earthquake Shakes South of Gilroy: USGS

A preliminary 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck Wednesday just south of Gilroy, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake, which hit at 6:44 a.m., was centered about 3.5 miles south of San Juan Bautista and about 20 miles south of Gilroy, the USGS said.

No other information was immediately available. Updates to come.
