Escalator in China Malfunctions, Sends People in Reverse

Terrifying moments broke out inside a shopping mall in Hong Kong when an escalator malfunctioned and suddenly sent people flying in the wrong direction. Dozens of people were thrown to the floor. A total of 18 people were hurt, including one victim who suffered a serious head injury. Experts said two safety gears malfunctioned. A shopping center spokesperson said the escalator just passed an inspection a few days before the incident.
