Officials Investigate Cause of San Jose Brush Fire

Firefighter crews responded to a brush fire early Friday morning in San Jose. Officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire and no injuries have been reported. Cierra Johnson has the details.

A brush fire was reported early Friday morning along southbound Interstate 880 in San Jose, officials said.

The fire was reported y the CHP at around 3:17 a.m. south of Montague Expressway where there's a homeless encampment along the freeway.

Approximately an acre of vegetation was burned and four to five trees caught on fire.

Crews were able to contain fire at about 5 a.m. and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
