The fire was first reported at 8:56 p.m. Sunday at Willow Street and South Almaden Avenue at an auto repair garage. Fire officials said there were no injuries. But a power pole loomed dangerously close to the shop, and the shop was red-tagged because it was at risk of collapse.

Fire officials asked people to avoid the area. On Monday morning, Almaden Road between Willow Street and Goodyear, near Washington Elementary School, was still closed.
