Gov. Newsom to Visit Evacuees in Santa Rosa Wednesday

California Gov. Gavin Newsom will be visiting with fire evacuees in Santa Rosa and residents impacted by PG&E's Public Safety Power Shutoffs in American Canyon on Wednesday, according to his office.

Newsom's office said the governor will start his day at a mobile food bank and resource center located at Kaiser Permanente's Mercury Way campus at 2240 Mercury Way in Santa Rosa at 10:30 a.m. At the resource center, evacuees can pick up food and find out what they can qualify for in terms of fire victim benefits or power shutdown unemployment benefits, along with other services.

That will be followed by a visit with residents of the Las Casitas Mobile Home Park at 3000 Broadway St. in American Canyon at about 12:30 p.m.

The governor's office said Newsom will be checking in with residents he previously visited this past weekend to help them access resources, including to replace food and prescriptions lost during the outages.

The governor is scheduled to speak at the trailer park around 1 p.m.
