Vicha Ratanapakdee's Daughter: ‘I Still Think About Him Every Day'

The man, affectionately known as “Grandpa Vicha”, is a name and a face that is well-known in the Asian American community. His death in January 2021 ignited AAPI activists across the nation and world to speak up against anti-Asian racism. More than a year and a half later, his family is still demanding justice. A San Francisco street will soon be re-named in honor of Grandpa Vicha Ratanapakdee. His daughter, Monthanus, shared family pictures, that haven’t been widely seen, and told us stories about “dad”.
