Muggy, Mild with Showers Soon

We’re seeing a pattern change in the weather for the weekend in the form of increasing subtropical moisture filling our skies with mid and high level clouds to start and a chance for some showers to follow later. For Saturday plan on some sunny breaks mixed with increasingly cloudy skies. Its not out of the question some stray showers may move through the Bay Area as moisture increases thanks to the subtropical jet stream adding a little extra punch. We ll likely have rain falling higher up, evaporating for the most part before it reaches the ground by later in the day which will have a net cooling effect on temps, and eventually allowing for some rain drops to reach the ground at times. We ll leave showers in the forecast for Sunday as some modest instability showers are possible, especially over the hills during the afternoon and ending by Sunday evening. Monday looks to be dry into midday Tuesday before the strongest system of the week arrives bringing breezy and increasingly rainy conditions by Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Snow levels will drop to near 3,000-4,000 ft. by Wednesday evening as much cooler air moves in, dropping our highs back into the 50s as well.Hope you enjoy your weekend! Rob Mayeda
