700-Pound Light Installation Poised for Hayes Valley in SF

A bold work of art may soon be creating a bit of a spectacle at a small San Francisco park. Later this week, San Francisco’s recreation and parks commission will review plans to place a large art installation in Hayes Valley. That installation would involve two geometrical light-sculptures and the smaller one weighing 700 pounds. The sculptures would be placed in “Patricia’s Green” at Hayes and Octavia. If it’s approved, the sculptures would be in place for a full year beginning Nov. 8.
