Oakland Holds Gun Buyback

Gun buyback in Oakland nets dozens of guns off Oakland streets.

A gun buyback in Oakland took dozens of weapons off the streets Saturday, including at least two AK-47s and two sawed-off shotguns.

The organization Youth Uprising partnered with the Oakland Police Department and an anonymous donor to host the event.

Oakland residents were able to turn in guns anonymously and get $100 per handgun and $200 per assault weapon. At last count, more than 90 weapons were turned in.

Organizers will have a final count on Monday.
