Police are investigating a double stabbing that occurred in San Jose Sunday evening.

The incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. in the area of South King Road and Lido Way, near Emma Prusch Farm Park.

Police said two victims, a boy and a man, were taken to the hospital.

San Jose police posted on social media that the boy was expected to survive while the man remained in critical condition.

The incident happened not far from where the Cinco De Mayo celebrations were taking place. But it was unclear if the stabbings were connected to those celebrations.

As police searched for a suspect on foot Sunday evening, a police helicopter circled the area, using a loudspeaker to warn drivers to leave the plaza at King and Story or risk having their vehicles towed.

No other details were released.
