Berkeley police have released a sketch of a man who they say is related to a series of ongoing sexual assaults reported near the university.

"With your help we can take this dangerous deviant off the streets," police officials said in a statement released Monday.

Officers said the most recent case occurred Friday at 1 a.m.

Officers said that they responded to the 2100 block of Haste Street near the UC Berkeley South Campus for a report of sexual battery.

In this case the suspect approached the lone victim from behind and attempted to grab her dress.

When he was unsuccessful he fled the scene westbound on Durant Avenue then south on Fulton Street, according to reports.
