Police have given the all clear after a possible explosive device was brought to the Hercules Police Department by a citizen Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. and prompted shelter-in-place orders and evacuations of the police department and nearby buildings. A bomb squad was also called to the scene to investigate.
It was later determined the item was not an explosive device and police lifted the shelter-in-place order at 5:50 p.m.
No other information was immediately available.
