Race For San Jose Mayor Heats Up

The race for San Jose mayor is heating up and it’s not just about politics. It’ll take big money to become the next mayor of the tenth largest city in the country. The five mayoral candidates have six days to convince voters they should be the next mayor. Four of the candidates are councilmembers who are aligned for the most part with Mayor Chuck Reed. They are Madison Nguyen, Pierluigi Oliverio, Sam Liccardo, and Rose Herrera. County supervisor Dave Cortese is the fifth candidate. All five count public safety among their top priorities, and they are all facing a very expensive political reality. NBC Bay Area’s Damian Trujillo reports.
