San Francisco Police Standoff With Barricaded Suspect Comes to End

San Francisco police hostage negotiators and the SWAT team are responding to a man who is barricaded inside his home, possibly with a gun, at Ashton and Grafton avenues. Jean Elle reports.

A man who allegedly barricaded himself inside a home in San Francisco's Ingleside neighborhood on Thursday evening has been taken into custody Friday morning, a police spokeswoman said.

San Francisco police Officer Grace Gatpandan said the individual was taken into custody shortly before 9 a.m. Friday morning and that the home, located near the intersection of Ashton and Grafton avenues, was searched and secured as of 9:50 a.m.

Police were first called to the 800 block of Grafton Avenue at 6:10 p.m. Thursday after a 49-year-old man allegedly went into the 81-year-old victim's house and got in an argument with her, police said.

The residents of the home fled and the suspect remained inside, barricading himself there.

Police negotiated with the suspect overnight, but have not said where exactly the suspect was taken into custody, whether he was armed or if he has been arrested.
