San Jose's Camera 12 Closing For Good

A once popular movie theater in the South Bay is closing it’s doors. Camera 12 in San Jose is going out of business. The owners said after a decade of lost revenue, they just couldn’t keep the cinemas open. A trio of San Jose State self-professed “film geeks” opened their first movie-house, Camera One in 1975. In 2004, the team took-over the failed United Artists theater, turning it into Camera 12. This complicates things for San Jose’s Cinequest Film Festival, which begins in March, and is now scrambling to find substitute venues.
