Santa Cruz County Gets Creative to Fund Road Repairs

Leaders in Santa Cruz County have come up with an unusual campaign in order to raise some much-needed money for road repairs. Winter storms caused an estimated $70 million dollars in damage to county roads. County leaders are now sending state lawmakers satirical greeting cards showing some of the worst road damage. County leaders say covering the costs of road repairs has become much harder with the county losing about 25 percent of its annual gas tax revenues over the past three years.
