Security Scares Force Shoppers Out of SF's Westfield Mall

San Francisco shoppers hoping to snag some holiday deals instead ended up running out of the Westfield Mall after a pair of security scares. Police said around 6 p.m. Monday, a man inside the mall was swinging something that many thought was a weapon. No one was injured and police said the man has been taken in for a psychological evaluation. A short time later, a fire alarm went off, sending employees and customers streaming into the streets. The mall was entirely closed down, and after a brief search, employees and shoppers were allowed back inside.
