Silicon Valley Robots: The New Teachers?

Startup makes robots that teach

Mountain View startup makes robots that can help kids get interested in technology on all sorts of levels. Scott Budman reports.

Silicon Valley kids are famous for being really good with gadgets. I admit, my kids whiz around mobile devices faster than the adults in the house, and it's impressive.

But can they program? No.

Can I teach them to program? No.

Enter Play-i, a Mountain View startup that makes robots that can help kids get interested in technology on all sorts of levels. Even if they're 5 years old.

The robots can dance, play songs, and interact with kids in a way that makes the young people feel comfortable with them.

Sounds a bit like the perfect teacher.

During a time when entire companies are desperate for ways to get young people interested in technology, programming and code, maybe Play-i has the answer: Do something cute and interactive, and build the engineering force of the future.
