South Bay Agencies Kick Off National Teen Driver Safety Week

Distracted teenagers behind the wheel is a common occurance that can lead to deadly consequences. A number of south bay agencies are kicking off ‘national teen driver safety week. Dozens of new drivers took part in a ‘driving challenge’ set up at Regional Medical Center of San Jose yesterday. They had to drive a course while dealing with distractions including loud music and social media. They also met fire captain Christopher Salcido and wife Andorra. Their 15-year old daughter, Natalia, was killed as a passenger in a ‘distracted driver’ crash. CHP says the number one killer of teens in the U.S. is ‘preventable car crashes.’
