Sunday Showers & Rollercoaster 7-Day

A weakening cold front will drift over the Bay Area today providing just enough lift to wring out some showers, especially over the coastal hills and peninsula where lift will be boosted by some mountain-forced rising air. By the afternoon we should see chances for showers on the decrease with another cool and breezy day to wrap up this first weekend of Fall. Just as quick as our weather has flip-flopped, we’ll see quick repeat of last week’s hot inland temperatures as early as Tuesday as high pressure builds back our way. Expect 80s and 90s inland from Tuesday through Thursday. Some cooling will resume later in the week as another trough of low pressure approaches the West Coast. A couple “interesting” things could happen late Friday into the weekend *if* subtropical moisture from a weakening tropical storm near Baja California heads northward over the Bay Area ahead of this trough. This is still subject to change – but we may see some showers again next weekend, stay tuned. Enjoy your Sunday and GO RAIDERS! – Rob Mayeda
