Former General Store Becomes Restaurant in Tiny Sunol

A new restaurant is headed to Sunol, the Bay Area town with a population of little over 900 people.

The town's former general store will soon be Magnolia Southern Kitchen & General Store, a restaurant serving Cajun comfort food made from local produce.

A Kickstarter initiative aims to raise $6,000 to help with the opening, which is tentatively scheduled for the summer.

The campaign text reveals that most of the construction has been self-funded so far. Incentives to donate include jars of Magnolia's own maple bourbon bacon jam, private sausage making classes, and tickets to a grand opening "pig roast and toast."
