Two Men Die in Possible DUI-Related Crash in San Jose

Two men died Thursday night in San Jose and two women fled the scene, prompting the California Highway Patrol to investigate whether the driver had been using drugs or alcohol.

Sergeant B. Barnwell said the deaths were reported just before 11 p.m. on Alum Rock Avenue near Kirk Avenue.

Two men in a Toyota sedan died after colliding with a Toyota pick-up, and two women inside fled, but were later found and taken to hospitals to be interviewed, Barnwell said.

The driver of Toyota pick-up sustained major leg injuries.

Alum rock Avenue was closed for three hours and 50 minutes.
