Watch: Home Invasion Robbery in San Jose Caught on Resident's Dashcam

NBC Universal, Inc. A home invasion robbery in San Jose was captured on camera by the resident’s dashcam as she pulled up to the home in her car. Alyssa Goard reports.

A home invasion robbery in San Jose was captured on camera by the resident's dashcam as she pulled up to the home in her car.

The crime happened at about 4 p.m. on May 31 along the 1000 block of Summerdale Drive, police said, roughly two hours after the suspects allegedly committed a similar home invasion robbery at a home along the 600 block of North Capitol Avenue.

Dashcam footage from the Summerdale Drive robbery shows a woman turn into her driveway, open the garage and find the suspects in the act. She proceeds to honk her horn and call 911. As she's on the phone with authorities, the suspects appear to hold her husband at gunpoint inside the garage before they hop in a car, which police say was stolen from the home on North Capitol Avenue, and take off.

During the 911 call, the woman could be heard saying, "My husband is at gunpoint. I have an infant."

"Something very traumatizing, not just for an adult, but can you imagine being a young child and have these people basically come into your home, invade it armed with a gun, and holding one of your parents at gunpoint?" San Jose police Sgt. Christian Camarillo said.

Police believe a group of five to six people is responsible for both home invasion robberies.

"We want them off our city streets," Camarillo said. "Obviously very, very brazen."

Neighbors near the home on Summerdale Drive said the victims told them that the suspects were threatening to kill the child. Police couldn't immediately confirm that, but they did say the child was at home when the robbery occurred.
