Police Arrest Man After Car Chase at Caldecott Tunnel in Antioch

Police have arrested a man after he led police on a chase at the Caldecott Tunnel in Antioch. Officers pursued a stolen vehicle where the suspect hit an officer and momentarily pinned a second officer. Both sustained minor injuries.

One of two westbound lanes of Caldecott Tunnel was closed Saturday afternoon following a police chase in Antioch.

Officers pursued a stolen vehicle from the parking lot of Sycamore Square in the 1000 block of Sycamore Drive. The suspect then led police into the tunnel where he began ramming the stolen vehicle into patrol cars.

One officer was hit and dragged attempting to detain the suspect. A second Antioch officer was momentarily pinned between the stolen car and a patrol car, according to police. Both officers sustained minor injuries.

The suspect fled from the car on foot, according to Antioch police.

Police were able to take the suspect into custody.

Videos posted on Snapchat show at least four police vehicles on the left lane of the tunnel and a few other vehicles. 

No other information was immediately available.
