Wet Start to the Week Ahead

We’re watching two systems for the first half of the week that will turn things progressively wetter and windier. The first system up for Monday is looking a little slower in timing and weaker rain/wind-wise. Plan on seeing rain developing in the North Bay/coast during the morning spreading southward into the evening. Some lingering showers mixed with sunshine will follow into Tuesday – a brief break before a stronger, faster moving system drops in as early as late Tuesday evening. This second system will kick up winds into the 15-30 mph range and bring a short, but potent sweep of moderate to locally heavy rain into Wednesday morning. Scattered showers and possibly and isolated inland thundershower may be possible Wednesday afternoon in the post-frontal cooler airmass. Things will calm down into Thursday and trend warmer and drier for the rest of the week and into next weekend. Enjoy your Sunday and Go Raiders! – Rob Mayeda
