A collective of elected female leaders on Tuesday gathered in San Francisco to scold President Donald Trump as well as fight to safeguard women's access to health care.

The rally, kicked off at San Francisco City Hall, and featured about a dozen elected officials standing alongside community members. Organizers said they were there to "women's universal access to affordable reproductive, family planning, and sexual health services." And they plan to introduce a resolution at a board of supervisor's meeting to continue providing access to birth control and other feminine health care issues.

"The resolution is the board of supervisors proactively saying that that they’re going to fight to continue to support access to contraception, access to health care," said Carlina Hanzen of the Women's Community Clinic. "To make sure that no matter what happens the city is standing firm for women and girls."

The resolution, which also comes after Trump reinstated a global gag rule, which blocks foreign aid for family-planning services, comes on the heels of a successful Women's March in San Francisco, and the world.

This is also the first time that the majority of the board of supervisors are women.
