4th of July Forecast: Heating Up!

Summer sizzle is set to return to the Bay Area just in time for the holiday weekend – with our many microclimates on full display. Case in point – inland areas from San Jose south and Castro Valley east will see temperatures in the 90s to near 100. Around the East Bay, places like Oakland to Fremont will see temps in the mid 80s to mid 90s. Across the inland North Bay, inland temps will soar from San Rafael, Napa and Santa Rosa into the mid 90s. But for San Francisco, probably hanging on to 80s with 70s near Ocean Beach and along the coastline. The marine layer, while thinned out should still provide some modest cooling around the inner bay. As far as cooling goes, we’ll probably have to wait until Thursday for the sea breeze to kick in strong enough to bring our inland temperatures down again. Have a happy and safe 4th of July weekend! – Rob Mayeda
