Bay Forecast: Mild For Now, Warming Soon

We’ll endure a small speed bump on the way to a warm up early next week thanks to a weather system tossing showers well to our north, but ushering in a stronger sea breeze and a few clouds our way. Highs will be in the 50s/60s near the coast and bay with spotty mist/drizzle next couple of mornings with 60s to lower 70s inland. By Monday as high pressure begins building in we should start seeing some near 80 degree temps inland – and definitely by Tuesday-Thursday as the air aloft warms/dries even more. Our temps should trend closer to June averages for the week ahead, which means its the start of some fairly robust Sierra snowmelt. Use caution if you’re in the Yosemite / Tahoe region the next few days as runoff rates will be faster and higher than average with some localized flooding possible as our tremendous snowpack begins to melt. Enjoy your Saturday! – Rob Mayeda
