Breezy Finish To The Weekend

Increasing north winds will mix down to sea level post sunrise leading to a slightly warmer finish to the weekend, though gusty at times in the hills. Winds will be in the 15-35 mph range for elevations above 1,500 feet and in the 10-20 mph range closer to the bay.As this dry air descends to sea level we should manage some warming compared to Saturday with highs in the 60s across the Bay Area and possibly a few areas where this downslope warming will be maximized (Santa Rosa, near the coastline) approaching closer to the upper 60s/70. Enjoy the respite from the rain, it should hold through Tuesday before a chilly storm drops in on Wednesday bringing more rain and a noticeable drop in temps. This midweek storm looks fairly cold for this time of year and could drop snow levels locally down to 3,000 ft. Cool, unsettled showers will follow into Thursday with a slight risk for some hail or thunder with a few of the heavier showers. We should dry out Thursday evening into Saturday but the chilly airmass will likely linger. Patchy frost could be in store on Friday and Saturday mornings before more rain tries to drop in late next weekend.Hope you enjoy your Sunday! – Rob Mayeda
