Chilly Mornings, Mild Days & Dry Halloween Forecast

We’ve hit that fun time of year where the days can both be really chilly, turning to really quite nice by the afternoon. Dry air, longer nights without clouds can really help temperatures drop as seen in our upper 30s and 40s at daybreak to the mostly 70s we’ll be seeing around the Bay Area during the day. Sunday should be about the same, however an increase in onshore winds will likely bring the return of some coastal fog and cooling temperatures into Monday. Halloween will likely start with morning clouds to hazy, mild sunshine and temperatures in the 60s-lower 70s. Another round of offshore, dry winds could develop around Tuesday afternoon as high pressure builds in behind a snowstorm rolling through the Rockies. The jet stream will begin dipping a little further south on Thursday-Saturday to bring more clouds, cooler temperatures and possibly some showers to the area. Given the flow is mainly from the northwest, moisture may be somewhat limited keeping most of the showers over the mountains and possibly tossing some relatively low snow levels for this time of year for the Sierra next weekend. Enjoy your Saturday! – Rob Mayeda
