Close Encounters With Asteroids & Drizzle

Our temperatures take a Fall-like dive with highs mainly in the 50s and 60s with areas of drizzle and light rain until midday. Look for slowly warming temperatures inland heading into the weekend ahead. For astronomy fans – a double near miss thanks to two 20-30 ft. wide asteroids passing well within the Moon’s orbit with the Earth. No to worry, no need to call Bruce Willis‘ & the Armageddon crew out to these, both space rocks are expected to zip close, yet harmlessly by with the second asteroid passing by shortly after 2pm our time over Antarctica at nearly 50,000 miles away. Don’t expect to see much around the Bay Area (clouds getting in the way as well), as the second asteroid will pass over Antarctica during daytime, but maybe we’ll get some NASA video of the event to show you tomorrow.
