Mild Temps, More Clouds Wrap Up The Weekend

So far the weather has behaved fairly nicely for the many outdoor events around the Bay Area this weekend. As an upper low begins to approach the coast later on Sunday, we’ll likely see clouds spilling in at times during the day but chances for showers are looking to hold off until later on Monday through the middle of next week. This upper level low will increase atmospheric lift while having a rather limited moisture supply as it moves inland. In these situations we often see the coastal mountains and inland hills offering the best chances for showers, or even an isolated thundershower at times. With the computer models pushing the low just to our south early in the week, this should mean that areas especially San Francisco southward will have a better chance for seeing isolated showers at times. As this system slowly trudges away from us and sets up over Southern California, we should see some cool north winds at times into Thursday and Friday. This will boost temps slightly for the end of the week. Next week may see another weather system approaching the coast bringing a chance for some rain to the Northern coastline for the following week (Oct 14th/15th) so stay tuned. Hope you enjoy your Sunday! – Rob Mayeda
