Night/Morning Drizzle and Cool Temps

A deepening marine layer and strong onshore winds will insure much cooler temperatures (especially) inland to wrap up the work week. There’s also a good bet for drizzle and some light rain at times late evenings into mid-morning hours around the coast, inner bay and hilltops as this cool moist air rises over the hills – a process we call mountain or hilltop forced lifting (aka orographic lift) where air rises, cools/condenses and drops some rain. In this case there may be enough to wet some roads at times for the morning commute so be advised. The weekend will see a transition to high pressure building back across the region which means a cool/mild Saturday before inland temps approach the 90s again as early as Sunday. Enjoy your Thursday! – Rob Mayeda
