Rain Returning Soon

A parade of weather systems will be flying into the Bay Area now through Sunday, each bringing an opportunity for some rain. The first in the series arrives later today – and will likely encourage some lift to the moisture/clouds to wring out some drizzle/mist along the coast and peninsula during the day. Showers are possible by late evening/overnight as what’s left of a weakening front moves over the area. Lingering showers are possibly into early Friday before things trend drier heading into Friday evening. This brief break won’t last long as another, wetter system moves in for Saturday, spilling moderate rain from the North Bay southward into the afternoon – it appears most of the moderate rainfall will occur north of San Francisco on Saturday.By Sunday the strongest system of the three plows into the upper West Coast. Strong lift/ample moisture should yield locally heavy rain totals in the North Bay coastal hills. Moderate rain is also likely further south into the South Bay and coast as the front drives through Sunday afternoon.Monday morning may see a few lingering showers – but odds are we’ll be in breezy/clearing mode by midday Monday. Cooler, drier conditions will move in for Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly cool/dry enough to warrant some 30 degree temps in the wind-sheltered inland North Bay valleys by mid week…But fow now… GO GIANTS. ;-)- Rob Mayeda
