Rain Returning Soon

Expect more clouds during the day with a cool afternoon for most of the Bay Area – highs 40s to mid 50s. These clouds that will keep our afternoon temps a bit cool in spots should help keep our overnight temperatures from dropping into the 20s/30s again for Friday night. However enough cold air may be trapped in a few spots – especially higher North Bay valleys that some overnight rain may be locally mixed with snow at times before dawn on Saturday. This weather system will eventually bring up westerly winds/more moisture that will bring snow levels up to near 3,000 feet during the day. Look for rain changing to showers for Saturday afternoon with some cool sunny breaks. Sunday looks breezy, cool with probably more patchy morning frost likely if winds ease off enough heading into Monday morning.
