Rainy For Now – Warmer Weekend Ahead

Expect rain off and on throughout the day with rain totals in the 1″-2″ range for the North Bay and amounts generally in the .50″ to 1″ range between now and Thursday morning for the rest of the Bay Area. We should transition from rain to scattered showers and sunny breaks from Thursday afternoon into Friday – with most of the rain for the end of the week falling north of San Francisco. The weekend will see drying and warming for most – except for our North Bay and East Bay valleys were fog may foil your warmup. As high pressure builds in with light winds and moist soil due to recent rain – this is usually a good recipe for radiation fog forming – and many times it will linger for our inland valleys as the sun angle this time of year is pretty shallow and our hours of daylight are the shortest of the year. – Rob Mayeda
