Rare August Showers & Thunder Start The Weekend

Mid-level moisture streaming in from the south will act like a conveyor belt of instability over the Bay Area likely through midday Saturday. This will give us an off and on chance for some brief rain and isolated thunder until upper level winds kick in, promoting more southwesterly winds higher up. This will turn the moisture to the east and bring an end to our rare Summer showers.Temps should remain mild through the weekend with a steady sea breeze though we should see temps briefly climb again by Monday as high pressure strengthens again before the sea breeze turns up midweek bringing cooler temperatures again.Enjoy your Saturday! – Rob Mayeda
