Showers Ending, Heat On the Way

We will see one more morning with some drizzle or some spotty light rain showers mainly near the coastline from San Francisco into the North Bay along with areas of patchy fog. Our juicy, tropical air will transition to a more Summer-time pattern by Wednesday afternoon as low clouds stay near the coastline and clearing skies return inland. On Thursday we should see local areas of low clouds for the coast and bay while inland valleys see their first taste of 90 degree temperatures. Continued warming into the mid and upper 90s inland will get underway by the weekend with temps staying more moderate around the coast/bay with 70s to mid 80s. So at least to start, not everyone will be feeling the worst of the heat. (Mainly North Bay, Tri-Valley and valley areas south of San Jose). However temps will likely climb higher even around the inner bay Monday and Tuesday next week – so keep tuned to the forecast for updates on the year’s first prolonged heat wave.
