Video Forecast: Feels Like Aug-tober?

Temps are looking really very mild as we kick off August, in fact you may even call it “Aug-tober”. Even that term may do our temps especially near San Francisco and the coast a little injustice since early October can see some offshore winds that bring some of the warmest, sunniest days to the peninsula and shoreline. What we have to start the week is a fairly deep marine layer near 2,000-2,500 feet and a steady sea breeze that will lead inland temps only into the mid 70s to lower 80s. We should see a little warming midway through the week but overall the changes are looking fairly subtle until around Thursday as an area of low pressure crosses though Northern California which will usher in cooler temperatures. Depending on how much moisture is available – we could see some afternoon thunder over parts of the far North Bay hilltops around Thursday, we’ll keep an eye on it. – Rob Mayeda
